Ice Retreat

Early spring as the ice retreats and ushers in the new season.

High Mountain Pass

The high elevation of these alpine meadows makes for a very short flowering season.

Rocky Mountain Alberta Raptor – Hunting

This female Swainsons Hawk was likely impressed by prey nearby in grass.

Mount Halo in the Rockies

Sometimes it is just about timing. The weather was poor this day, but the clouds suddenly began to break and the sun was trying hard to shine through just above this peak.

Good Snowboard Height

Getting some good height out of the Super Halfpipe is always sure to please the spectators.

Winter Inuksuk

Spotted these Inuksuits (Plural for Inuksuk) along a mountain valley creek bed. I think it makes for an appropriate wintery scene to start the year off.

Icy Clumps

On a blue-sky and calm winter day, icy clumps of frost (to numerous to count) appear as clouds on the frozen lake.

Rocky Mountain Stare-down

Grizzly Creek

There are approximately 700 Grizzly Bears in Alberta. This summer I have been fortunate to view a few of the population. Comments welcome.

Layers

It was a bit of a surreal feel looking across depth of field of this scene. During certain times of the year I do a fair amount of flying, but I find that there are considerably more landscape photo opportunities from the ground.  Comments welcome.
